A forum for Iraqi and British based SMEs to discuss business opportunities in Iraq.

The forum was a half day event, commencing at 9am with registration and welcome addresses, followed by presentations from pre-eminent UK and Iraqi companies and trade associations and finished with extensive opportunities for one to one meetings with SME representatives.
As British businesses start to look further afield for investment opportunities, Iraq Britain Business Council has convened a host of Iraqi small and medium sized businesses looking to create partnerships with ambitious British organisations from a range of sectors in a diversifying and growing economy. IBBC hosted this unique forum to facilitate constructive dialogue and provide maximum opportunities for networking and investment opportunities.
Positive outlook for 2018
Ziad Badr, Country Manager for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), recently stated that “In no other part of the world are there such investment opportunities”. Which reflects the huge potential to bring lasting positive change to Iraq in 2018, most notably with the improved security situation, the rise and stability of regional oil prices and an increase in foreign aid, which has encouraged investors back into the country to work on projects on Oil & Gas, Reconstruction & Infrastructure, Energy, Training and more.
The forum was hosted at the Royal Over-Seas League, which is located in London’s Mayfair district and is a non-profit, private members’ club dedicated to championing international friendship and understanding, the perfect setting to facilitate long lasting links between Iraqi and British business communities.
