Petrofac is a leading international service provider to the oil and gas production and processing industry.

Petrofac’s range of services meets its clients’ needs across the full life cycle of oil and gas assets.

With around 13,500 employees, Petrofac operates out of seven strategically located operational centres, in Aberdeen, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Woking, Chennai, Mumbai and Kuala Lumpur and has a further 24 offices worldwide.

In April 2017, Petrofac announced that it secured a series of contract awards worth more than US$70 million for engineering, operations and maintenance services in Iraq. Petrofac’s Engineering and Production Services’ (EPS) East business secured the awards during the first quarter of 2017 with two major International Oil Companies and South Oil Company.  Featuring prominently in the mix are awards in region for operations and maintenance and a new brownfield scope for engineering and procurement services.  In addition, the company has been awarded new scopes from South Oil Company.  This includes the installation of offtake facilities and a mooring system for an additional Single Point Mooring.  This additional scope builds on the company’s six-year tenure as the provider of operations and maintenance for the offshore international crude oil export expansion production facility.

Employing local talent is something Petrofac tries to do in every market, and Iraq is no exception. The organisation continues to recruit actively in the local market to support both current and anticipated projects. There is potential to help people develop new skills or keep their skills up to date. Petrofac have several training contracts in place, and our training business is expected to grow when the Rumaila Operating Organisation academy opens.
