IBBC’s Spring Conference 2019: Interview with Charlie Burbridge, Managing Director of G4S
Mr Burbridge discusses that since their involvement in Iraq in 2003 he has observed a positive evolution of the business environment at the provision of stability and protective services. Charlie shares a brief analysis of the security situation in the country: the South is highly steady, predominantly dominated by the Oil & Gas industry.
The Centre is now seeing a greater enthusiasm for investment as international risk capital firms begins to see that there is opportunity in Iraq. Northern Iraq, unfortunately is suffering a gradual deterioration of the security environment following the recent conflicts with ISIS. Charlie accentuates the forward-looking outlook for Iraq from a security perspective and assures a progressive improvement in investment returning, to Mosul first, from which it’ll spread to other cities.
